Rules And Regulations

  • You are to participate only in the race category which you had applied for and for which your entry has been confirmed. Participating/starting in a category you have not been confirmed in will not entitle you to any benefits of participating at the Kanchipuram Half Marathon.
  • Your entry and running number bib is not transferable to any other person under any circumstance. Runners found to have interchanged their running number bib with another individual will be disqualified from the Kanchipuram Half Marathon.
  • The Organizers reserves the right to disqualify and/or exclude any person from future competitions who give incorrect/unverifiable personal data/details on the application form, who has been banned from competition under IAAF jurisdiction, or who is suspected of having taken banned substances, or who has finished within prize money positions but failed to declare their valid identity or if they have not followed the complete/correct course. No refund of entry fee will be made.
  • Participants are not allowed to run with pets, unregistered runners, babies and children who are under aged for the designated category
  • Only those confirmed participants wearing the current running number bibs will be allowed on the route. Any person found wearing the incorrect bib or no bib will be disqualified and removed by course security.
  • Further, every runner must wear his/her running number bib on the front of his/her vest. Any mutilation, fold, alteration or damage to the bib will amount to disqualification of the runner from the Event.
  • Organizers reserves the right to stop any participant from participating who is found medically unfit to continue in the opinion of the medical personnel.
  • Only confirmed participants of the Kanchipuram Marathon wearing the valid running number bib and event crew will be allowed entrance into Event Venue/s.
  • Do not leave valuables like mobile phone, camera, jewellery, watch, electronic gadgets, etc. in the bag stored. Organizers is not responsible for any loss of baggage and/or belongings.
  • Participants are requested to cooperate with the Volunteers and security personnel deputed on route.
  • Photographs taken of runners during the Expo and on race day may be used for the purpose of promoting the event.
  • The participation in the Kanchipuram Half Marathon is strictly subject to the following age restrictions:
    • Half Marathon: You should be 18 Years
    • 10k Race: You should be 15 Years
    • 5k Race: You should be 12 Years
    • You need to provide photocopies / scanned copies of a valid govt. issued age proof and id proof for completing your registration.
    • All the Half Marathon participants requested to carry torch since initial 15 mintues will be dark.
  • Even though you hold a valid running number BIB, you may not be allowed to participate in the event if any of our marshals or medical personnel feels you are not fit. In such an event you will not be entitled to a refund of your registration fees.
  • The race venue and route will be heavily marshalled and you are expected to follow their instructions in all eventualities, failing to do so will result in your participation being cancelled and no refund of your registration fees will be made.
  • No request for a refund of registration fees will be entertained, regardless of circumstances. If the event is cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the organizers, the registration fee paid by you for participation will be adjusted towards your participation on a new date. In the event of you being unable to participate on the new date, you will not be eligible for a refund.
    Please note that the force majeure clause applies to this event.
  • Only registered participants holding a valid running number BIB will be allowed to enter the Event venue and take part in any of the races. Individuals without a valid running number BIB will not be allowed on the course.
  • The organizers are not responsible for organizing transport and it is the responsibility of the participants to report at the race venue well before the start of the race. (See Race Schedule)
  • There are parking spots available on race day and which can be utilized by the Participants.
  • There is a facility to store your baggage at the race venue, however the organizers cannot be held responsible for the safety of your baggage or belongings and this is a service provided on a best effort basis only. For reasons of safety please ensure that you provide locked / sealed baggage only and do not store any valuables like Jewelry, gadgets etc in the bags being kept in the baggage hold. Please note this facility is available only for Half Marathon & 10K Participants.
  • The running number BIB is mandatory for your participation of race day and will have to be personally collected by you at the Marathon Expo the details of which will be communicated to you by email. In the event of your inability to collect your running number BIB the same can be collected by your representative. Your representative has to carry your govt. issued photo id along with an authorization letter duly signed by you, authorizing your representative to collect your running number BIB on your behalf.
  • Goodie Bags will be given to Half Marathon, 10K and 5K Participants only at the Marathon Expo, details of which will be provided to you shortly by email only. It is recommended that you register early and collect your goodie bag at the Marathon Expo early to avoid disappointment and mostly everyone will have issued Goodie bags.
  • Participants,due to insufficient power usage in our trial course and route, So we are unable to provide timing chip. Even we tried for live streaming,Our team tried and consulted for different timing techniques but due to timing maintenance failure by network devices in our running environment and technical difficulties we are unable to have any timing system
  • We are going to use video Monitoring devices for our Marathon to Monitor and Identify the Winners for each Category with adjudicators across the route.
  • Finisher Certificate will be available after Post run completion at the Venue.
  • Medals will only be given to Half Marathon, 10K participants & 5K participants on successfully completing the designated course.
  • Information & Updates will be emailed only, it is your responsibility to provide your email accurately & legibly, further if you do not receive an email receipt of your form submission within 72 hours of your submitting your form, it is your responsibility to call the event helpline and ensure that your email id has been captured accurately.
  • Participation at individual’s own discretion and risk. Organisers will not hold any liablility or responsibility over the health of the Participants during the event.
  • Entry Fees, once paid, is non – refundable and non – transferable.
